The only zoo in western Nebraska, Riverside Zoo allows visitors the chance to see more than 70 species of animals in a variety of indoor and outdoor exhibits. The Walk-Through Aviary contains a number of brightly plumed and rare birds while the Cat Complex has habitats for big cats including lions and tigers. It is located just north of the Scottsbluff National Monument, which was a landmark for many pioneers heading west along the Oregon Trail in the 1800s.
